The exterior is impressive - it doesn;t look like a hotel, and the columns and facade are really cool looking. When you walk in, the place is just amazing - makes you feel special (especially if you like luxury). Doesn;t feel like a hotel - dark carpets, the sunken lobby, sofas & chairs make for a great evening experience (and even daytime lounging experience with a newspaper). Check-in is OK...the check-in staff can be a bit thick, but its not bad. The rooms are stylish, and if you are lucky enough to get the round circular tub in the room, then its awesome. Beds are sooo comfortable, and room service is fast & efficient (but expensive!). Location is very central, but can be hard to get a taxi. There is a great breakfast place (diner) across the street (Red Flame, i believe its called) - definitely worth checking out. I would stay here again. I usually stay at the Gansevoort, but since it was sold out I stayed here and must say I was not disappointed. The hotel bar (although not sp
