This review is on the Walnut Room Sunday Brunch on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008. The staff and service was excellent. Very friendly staff and there's not beating the elegance of the Hotel President Building. That being said, the food was just OK. The food was not all hot, as it should have been, and there were no linen tablecloths, which I expected to have in such a beautiful building. The price of the brunch was $39.95, which is way over-priced for what it was. There were a lot of vacant tables, so that should be a telling sign to management (and potential diners)that something was not up to par. Almost everywhere that serves a decent brunch on Easter Sunday in Kansas City is packed and reserved way ahead of time. I definitely would not go back for this brunch at the price they charged.
